Hey DA's!! We have often been afraid of the theft of our works on some assholes website or some lame ass brochure. Well now the big boys have gotten into the act.
I have a good friend and colleage named PAUL ROUSTON. A kick ass airbrush and caricature artist. He has made a name for himself in the art of body painting. He does some killer work see his website [link] . Well he is featured in the SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER issue of AIRBRUSH ACTION MAGAZINE. I was so happy for him that I wrote to him with congratulations.
Well I just got an email back from him. Not only did the magazine publish his work without his knowledge, including images of himself, but they edited the content of the photos by mocking up panties and bra's on the models!! WTF!! I was speechless. I mean.... now they can use OUR art to further their names with so much as a release or consent of the artist. Not to mention editing and making the pieces more "public" acceptable!
I am totally outraged by this!! I have never had much love of this rag mag as of late but now they have gone into the basement. I am not sure what his avenues of recourse are but I wanted to voice it here!
